Shortcut keys for message boxes are evil
I'm sure everyone has at some stage been typing in an email message or word document (or for the weirdos - word perfect) and realised that something's just flashed on the screen but you missed it. It might have said something like "Your computer is about to explode. [OK] [Cancel]" just as you started typing the word "octopus"...
I just had one of those moments. The only reason I became aware that there must've been a message box was that the focus was suddenly taken away from the email I was writing. There was no noticeable flash on the screen, but I thought I caught something on the taskbar out of the corner of my eye.
So I propose that from this day forward, simple hotkeys are forever banned in message boxes. However, not being able to dismiss a message box using the keyboard should also be an offence punishable by death (as should not being able to resize them, but that's another story - not looking at anyone, MICROSOFT stupid add references dialog in VS...). So, how about using Control+Enter for OK, and Shift+Control+Enter for cancel?
All those in favour send a $5 money order to the address at the bottom of your screen. All those against, send $10...
